Please give Court our best and I will be praying for both of you that she has a comfortable and speedy recovery.
Looking forward to hearing she is feeling much better today...

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Shelley,
please give Court a really big hug for me since I couldn't make it down to see her! I have been thinking about her though and I hope she recovers quickly with out too much pain!
Court you are one tough cookie! Good luck in therapy and no more of that passing out buisness, its not fun, I did that once. then the dr. sent me home with crutches, I was thinking, are you kidding me, lol Hopefully no crutches for you!
Heal quickly! Big hugs!

Hey....good to hear from you...things are going great here. i will say that today we go to the cast room....Shin said the shoulder and neck look really great skin wise so we're off...he said if it wasn't taking, the skin would look rather....old and rough...but hers looks great. She walked 6 times yesterday...can to keep track. my friend flies out today and my sister, only sib, flies in from Boston today..Court's favorite aunt on my side...ha! that'll be fun.....not sure about discharge yet but we're waiting to hear...has all iv's out except the arterial...a "just in caser"...drain out of arm but 2 still in leg and draining...swelling going down...they washed her hair the other day and they bathed her yesterday....her voice is still wierd, probably from the drugs and the airway...it sounds so funny....well, gotta shower and head over to see what's going on..will be sure and tell her you wrote and are heading for Ryan's...she'll definitely be interested...take care you guys...thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers and concerns and....everything..means so much to have friends like you........love to everyobne........Shelley

Shelley & Court, CONGRATULATIONS to you BOTH for coming through this with such flying colors! Believe me, I know it's a team effort - and Court, from everything I'm reading you have a championship team with you there (including your mom, other family, surgical team, nurses, etc). Mayo is indeed special but you're doing your part to insure you get the best possible outcome.
Know that many many people are rooting for you all & keeping you close.
Take care,
Ellen
