Hi to all-
I try to keep up with reading the boards but hardly ever have a chance to post anymore. I have three girls, Erin, Emily and Abigail (ages 18, 15 and 10 respectively)
Emily is robpi, she had mod quad surgery several years ago. She is doing well with continued therapy although she has recently started to have some complaints about her uninjured arm due to overusage.
All in all she is a happy well adjusted kid, who has a keen sense of humor, and well-honed dimples that she "uses" to her benefit...
It is so great to see all the new names here and the wonderfully supportive atmosphere. Keep it up!
(:
Sue

Hi Everyone

Neat idea Paula. My name is Elisa and I have a 13 month old son with RBPI. He weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz. and was born a few days early. Primary surgery was cancelled at the last minute, but now it looks like the mod quad - just found out last week. We have a beautiful 14 year old daughter also, who is the greatest kid and loves her baby brother so very much. I am so thankful for UBPN and am not sure what I would've done without all the info & support it has provided.

My daughter Rosalynn was born Nov. 9, 2000. She had a nerve transfer surgery in St. Louis this past Nov. She is making progress but still has a long way to go.

Hi my name is Kika,
My daughter Paulina is now 7 years old. She does everything with her right arm. When she was born she couldn't even lift it. She did have some movement in her fingers. She plays tennis three times a week and also plays the piano. Her determination is incredible. Her doctors didn't feel the nerve surgery would give her much more improvement. I know I suffer more than she does.

Hi!

My daughter Kelsey is 5, has a lobpi. She has had 3 surgeries, and is up for the 4th April 8th. She sees Dr.'s Nath and Shenaq at TCH. As with a lot of the other children, she is clever and cunning. She has a lot of "bad habits" as her therapists say. She is very resourceful when it comes to compensation and scares all of the neighbors and teachers on the playground to death when she is playing.

We also have a son, Austin (3), born c-section without a bpi.

Welcome to everyone new!

Hello and welcome to new visitors.

My name is Bridget, I have an eight year old son, Ian, who suffered a brachial plexus injury to his left arm at birth. He has had three surgeries and receives on-going physical therapy. He loves to swim, play baseball, hike, bike, read and write stories. Ian has a wonderful sense of humor and I feel so blessed to have him as my son and as part of my life.

I've been an advocate in this field for the past eight years, and serve on the UBPN Board of Directors. I am also active in our local support group here in Arizona. I work in Design & Marketing in my professional life, and I am a single mom.

Best wishes to everyone.

Bridget

I have a 3 month old daughter, Emma, who has a right OBPI. Before she was born, I'd never heard of the term 'Erb's Palsy,' and I didn't know what a brachial plexus was. It's amazing how much you can learn in 3 months! This message board has been a big help.

I also have a 20 month old son named Connor.

Best wishes to everyone,
Sarah

Hi my name is Joni and I have a 2 year old little girl named Machera. She has a BPI with Klumke's, Horner's, Spinal cord injury, and likely stroke. She has only had one surgery and is scared to death of most people, probably from all the different tests and specialists she sees. She's expecting a new brother or sister and this time we pray for a trauma free birth! Machera is beautiful and loves every PBS and Disney show created!
