Henry. I am so pleased that you are getting some relief from the pain at last and a better quality of life. I have been following this thread with interest so I hope you will give an update every now and then.

My hubby Duncan has just had his arm amputated (yesterday) and I hope that he does not have an increase in this terrible pain. I know that your pain increased after some spinal surgery rather than the amputation, either way the neuropathic pain has a devastating affect on your life and I truly hope that methadone is the answer for you.

Hi. Thought I'd post an update.

The meth therapy has stabilized at 10 mg twice a day, and it has been a great relief. The pain is definately under control.

Few things I've noted along the way. I've had to quit drinking all together. Even a little leads to upset stomach and to general depression. Also can't eat heavy fried foods or rich foods. I've lost 15 lbs, but needed to so that is ok.

Sleep great.

It has been a blessing in my life and I recommend it.

Excellent news Henry..many thanks for the update, it really helps a lot of people who post and/or lurk here. I hope you don't still have to go to collect your daily requirements from the clinic anymore!

All the best

Hi Liz,

I'm picking up twice a week, but should go to once week soon.

The junkie thing is a pain though; I had to give up my favourite bread because the poppy seeds gave my urine sample an opiate reading, which would disqualify me.

TTYL,
