I am sorry to hear that you had your accident on the same day. I agree with you...4/6 is a day I would like to forget.
I must say though, we were blessed that my dad survived the accident and didn't suffer any brain or lower extremity injuries. I know that this BPI is enough to suffer, but I still ahve to count my blessings when I can.

I think that feeling "pins and needles" may well be a good thing, feeling anything at all could be a good thing indeed. While compartment syndrome is a potential problem with arterial injuries, TBPI injuries are traction related to the neck. The key key is to get the very best diagnostics that you can afford, none of them are fool proof!! Don't believe in anyone blindly, get as much info as you can as you can't possibly get too much. onepaw

HI Lauren,
So sorry to hear about your dad. My son was in a motorcycle accident 4 year ago Feb. He was in a lot of pain and had surgery end of May that year. The surgery really helped with the pain. He also was depressed and after awhile was able to come out of it.
After 4 years there are days when he still has pain. He isn't on any heavy medication. From what I have been told the sooner your dad see a specialist the better.
I wish you and your dad all the very best. If you have any other question please email me.
Hugs, Karen

Randy,
We picked the Mayo Clinic because it offered the best results for arm function for our son. He is 21 years old and did not want a flail arm. He had 4 doctors working on him in his first operation, and will have 3 on his 2nd which is coming up the end of June. We went to see Dr. Tiel at LSU, and he also recommended the Mayo to us if we wanted more for Blair. As far as we were concerned Mayo offered the "Best recovery possible to date." I hope this helps.
