One of the reasons I want all these questions about botox is that our physiatrist is going to write an article for the next outreach about botox. She is a wonderful lady and has lots of experience, but she really wanted to know what bpi parents want to know about botox. This way the article is more informative for us.
So, send those questions my way and I will be sending them her way.
Thanks,
claudia

Claudia,
I would be interested in her thoughts as to why more doctors and bpi specialists don't seem to routinely use botox, or use it at all for that matter?
Are there really any serious risks and what are the odds of those risks?
What is the youngest child she feels that the use of botox could be beneficial?
Does your doctor feel that through using botox early on some children may escape some of the serious muscle imbalance issues or possible joint deformity?
Has your doctor used botox to address internal rotation contractures? I think some are beginning to look at that idea.
I am so excited that there will be an article about botox. Thank you.

I'm seeing if I can bump this up to find the whole thread. I was only able to get this part from searching the web for botox.

I'm new to the boards. Was there ever an article in Outreach about botox, and if so, which issue? Thanks.

Yes there was an article in Outreach, Issue 15, which was the Spring 2004 issue. If you need a copy please email me (
nancy@ubpn.org) and I will send one out to you.

Dr Grossman in Miami FL is a pioneer in the use of botox in shoulder internal rotation contration in BPI.
He wrote an article where he discusses the use of botox in BPI.
The link to his article is

Dr Grossman's web site is
