Out of curiosity, has anyone tried one arm golf ? My Dad has been bugging me to give it a try. There are books on it, as well as golf pros that can teach you. I know that the pros have an annual tournament. I have not found the time to give it a try.
Based on things that I have accomplished as well as what everyone else on the board has accomplished, I know it is something that can be done. This would be a great gift in terms of competing again in sports - maybe some lessons with a golf pro ?

I was approached by a one-armed glofer who was very good at it and worked with stroke victims to get them playing golg again. He had two other one armed friends and they were looking for a fourth. The idea of a fourth of one armed golfers makes me laugh ever time. It would be worth it just to see the reactions.
I did not have the time then, but this summer I went with my boys and played a short nine course. It went very well and while I'm a long way from a good golfer, the one armed technique came quickly. I hasten to add that I'm 20 years one armed and a regular weightlifter so my wrist and arm are very strong.
I plan on doing more next year.

If you don't already have plastic hangers get some, they save on the frustration of trying to use the metal ones. See if you can find some of the non-slip shoulder ones. They're great. Non-stick cook ware, organizing things better, closets, drawers, etc to again, ease the frustration of finding and using things. Get some jackets/sweaters that button rather than zip. Get some pants w/o zippers and buttons. How about a watch with an expandable wrist strap rather that the clip or buckle type.

Hi Dawna,
The best gift idea i can think of now, is a wall mounted beer bottle opener, you will need a bin to collect the caps as they drop down though!
