Jenny,
Thanks for your insight, as I just read in another posting, you are very wise! I know that Dr. Nath works primarily with OBPI but the fact that he has options for me excites the crap out of me! The doctor that I ahve been seeing keeps saying lets wait and see....My worry is that I will pass the time deadlines and have this retarted arm forever! I Am all about surgery and it was great to hear a doctor show enthusiasm (sp?) for wanti g to help me. Maybe I am jumping the gun but at this point int my life thats what I need to do. If the insurance doeant go through, I have 2, then who knows! I know that I dont have $10,000 to take to TX in 1 week! AGHHHHHHHHH!! Thanks for the advice!!! Any more???

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Hahaa Courtney, if I knew how to get $10000 in one week I'd be lying on a tropical beach somewhere, not sitting here freezing my butt off! :0)Good luck, hope you swing this for yourself...
