Kathy, first of all i would like to apologise for putting my previous reply on the wrong board, it was'nt meant for you. But a answer to some of your questions, i can't straighten any of my fingers either, but you get used to them being a little bit bent all the time. And your arm feels heavier because it is lifeless, like a dead weight. I move my arm a lot aswell, i think it's to remind me it's still there. Ihope your tendon transfer goes realy well, keep us posted, & all the best for 2002 bigsel

Yup Kathy...your arm WANTS to WAKE UP...it was the same for me at first...I never knew where the damn thing was...phantom numbness er something...weird...
Once everything healed it felt more normal...then as things progressed it felt stronger...I still can't grasp a pint glass but I can use the strength in my limb and say carry a heavy box...
BE CAREFUL THOUGH...I broke my bpi arm pushing it too hard( arm wrestling ) yeah yeah haha...The fix for the fracture was way worse than the bpi surgery.
My advice...take it gingerly at first...do your PT for as long as it feels right for you...eventually you'll learn all the tricks that keep your arm LOOSE...
Now if I could just get someone to help me twist this widget....?????
Take care, Mike
