Sunday Dinner Plans ?

Ok - so if we're all "here" (lol lol) let's plan dinner on Sunday now??

Where?

What time?

Any suggestions?

Here's my suggestion about time.... We try to keep Maia on "home" time...meaning that when we are there we stick to times that we eat at home, etc. so that there's no transitioning back and forth. So we normally eat at 6-6:30 and in Texas we eat a bit earlier - like 5:30... I think early is better for us also because we want to spend a LOT Of time in a nice hot bath as it will be the last for quite a while.

We can stick around the hotel complex or we can venture out and try something very Texan if you wish...

What d'y'all think? (<---- texas accent) Hahahaha

Francine, our plane arrives at 3:15 on Sunday and Robert Soto will be picking us up. So we should be ready for dinner around 6:30ish. As to where...we don't have a preference. I can't wait to see everyone...although I do wish it were under different circumstances.

This will be our first visit to TX, so we have no idea where to suggest. We will just have to follow.

Oh, what is the cheapest way to get from the airport to the Marriott?

Hi again! Talked to Lisa today and we will check-in at 8 AM Monday. She said there will be 8 surgeries. We are #4. Have any of your children had the nerve transfer? Or do you know anyone who has? I am excited and nervous!!!!! I Since I am from here, let me suggest Joe's Crab Shack. It is near Astropworld, about 3 miles down the road, on 610 E bound. Just down Fannin. It is high energy and fun. But if you want something different, there is sooooo much! Go over to Main Street and head towards 610. (Or just head into Downtown) Well...see you all soon.

Basically, all the cabs will be the same price, but the town cars are usually the same as the cabs and are much nicer....As for siblings at TCH, when my son had primary we had our two year old with us. TCH was quite accomidating....they treated her great. They can't go into recovery or pre op so someone will have to wait with him/her out in the waiting room. There are all kinds of things to do, the fish tanks are AWESOME. AGAIN, TCH is wonderful with the Siblings. They are used to this sort of thing since alot of people travel to TCH for procedures. There are snack machines on every floor and once your child is in a room, it makes life much easier......

cheapest way to the marriott.... taxi or Robert Soto...

there are posted prices for zones... just look at the sign at the airport taxi dispatch and make sure that the driver agrees to charge you that price.

Robert Soto was the same price pretty much and he has a nice car and he's a nice guy.

You can pay by credit card - if you get a taxi - just tell the dispatch that you need a credit card taxi.

I have Soto's # there...

Did you guys make up your mind as to where you will meet? I ask because Tabitha will be there for her c7 transfer/cross and mom could really use the support right now. I think meeting others will do her good.
