Kari - do you think your Aunt would publish an article for a journal/magazine that pediatricians/neurologist would be likely to read - just about this??

I don't know. She is in a completely different field now. (Ped. Diabetes) so I'm not sure if she would be considered.

I would try gtoing to the insurance agency and requesting a hearing, the surgery is so expensive and if you have insurance that is what its for,
All docs have opinions, just like people, TCH is very controversial in some circles, but you are right in my opinion that he should be researching this better,
Seek some relief ($) with your insurance company
good luck

when we went to the neurologist initially he had not heard of the treatments that were available so i brought some information to him about tch. he has since referred several patients to them and although tch says that there is no real need to see the neurologist locally i feel that it is more of a service to other paitents. he is so impressed with her recovery and uses it as a sort of base line of what can be achieved with a lot of hard work.

Hi, Jennifer
I just wanted to add my two cents! I have a sister that has Spina bifida and her neurosurgeon is one of the very best in the country, he has been in National Geographic Magazine and many others. Anyways, My mom saw him yesterday and was telling him about her grandchild that has bpi(my daughter) and he said that we have the very best doctors(TCH) you could have for this injury. He personally knows Dr Laurent and gives him a glowing recommendation. Coming from this man that is quite a compliment, my family has known him for almost 17ys now and I have never met a more kind and compassionate man. With that I feel very safe with the opinions and actions from the doctors at TCH.
I know that this may be kind of off the subject but I thought I would just add that.
