I hate needles even lookin at them makes me squirm! 2years ago i had to go in for an operation in my mouth to remove a cyst and i was terrified. I never slept, got all sweaty jst thinkin about the needle in my hand! it was horrible. My mum took me to the doctor and asked them if there was anythin that would calm me, they suggested valium but that probably wouldnt b a good idea. Another thing was Kalms. i dont know if youv heard of them but they calm you down. You can take them if your scared of flying and such things but the thing i was used was called Back Rescue Remedy Relieve and Comfort. You jst put a few drops on your tongue and it jst calms you down! and it REALLY does work . its a natrual flower mix thing so its not got anythin nasty in it all herbal and stuff. Maybe you should try it! i take it now for goin to the dentist...terrified of him 2! Youd maybe have to ask your pharmacist bcos maybe your son would be too young but maybe youll jst put less drops on his tongue!

My daughter was much younger (about 9 mo) when she had MRI done. She was given an oral medication to put her out. She fell asleep in my arms and I got to carry her into the MRI room and lay her down on the table.

It is interesting the talk about stranger anxeity. She was everybodies friend before her EMG test in which they DID NOT SEDATE HER! I am still fuming over that one, i should have picked her up and walked out because it was my understanding that she would be put under. Anyway since then she is very leary of men. And if he is wearing a white lab coat forget it, she is through the roof. When we go to the family doctor he takes off his coat before coming into the exam room and she does ok, if he forgets to take it off before entering, she climbs the walls. It is fuuny how our kids learn so quickly and remeber like elephants!

it's a real standard in health food stores...they probably all have it

you can put it under your tongue
or you can put it in formula or in water

if you put it in hot water first, any alcohol will evaporate - it's only a few tiny drops anyway
