Thank you. He needs to have surgery, will be happening this wednesday, if not then the wednesday after. He has classic erb's palsy and they are anticipating there is significant damage to his C5. I guess they will know more when they get in there. Best prediction is they will just be releasing the scar tissue to the C5 nevre and the op will only be about an hour long. As always I am hopeful of a spontaneous recovery before then.......you never know!!

That's great to hear (on the other thread) that he has good tricep. The prognosis is much better when C7 is un/less involved.

He is doing very well thank you. He has been sleeping like a newborn since his op and seems to have dreadful wind probably due to the drugs they plyed him with, other than that and his bandages you would never know what trauma he has been through in his short life, he is such a happy little chappy. We get the bandages off on friday, which we are looking forward to since we have had to change them frequently due to pootastrophy's and his ability to kick them off. And of course we are anxiously looking forward to see what results he might get from the surgery.

Hi,
It pains me to hear of yet another baby born with an injury that could so easily be prevented. I know what you are going through, Jacob was 4 months when the "gravity" of the situation really hit me, I had a hard time for a little while with the torment of would he/would he not need surgery, and then dealing with the surgery itself. I am back on track now trying to be positive and strong for both my babies. In hindsight I can see all my worry was possibly a little unnecessary, Jacob is doing great. Although I'm not telling you not to worry, after all, we are mother's and we worry about all our kids regardless.
Please let us know how you go, it is important to share our stories.
And remember to take care of yourself, our babies will be brilliant with or without this injury and we love them just the same
