I had one. To the patient it's not any different to the regular routine of an mri, but it takes longer. it took over 2 hours for me, and i had to be sedated for it.

i slept through the whole thing! the only thing is that some bpi specialists feel that the results can often be inconclusive, and sometimes even useless. my tests showed lesions and scar tissue on my bpi, but dr. zager didn't feel it was good to do anything about it because i also have rsd.

i'm seeing nath in may so we'll see what he says.

Hello - I am new to this board and am glad to have found it. I have a c8 TBPI from an auto accident and did have this test last year. It is basically an MRI and was placed on a "screen" and injected with dye after having the normal MRI. It just takes longer and is not that uncomfortable.
