Shots
Re: Shots
As an old pediatric nurse, there are plenty of places to give shots. The question is how old is your child? If he has been walking then they can give them in the "butt", there is two places to give there. The risk is the sciatic nerve and stabilizing the child. They need to be given in a well-developed muscle. The best place is in the thigh. Easy to stabilize, nice big strong muscle. My son is 4 and just had 3 immunizations. I just told them to avoid the BPI arm and everything was fine. Good news is there is talk of coming out with combined immunizations so the babes do not need to have multiple immunizations, esp. before kindergarten. They also can have their kindergarten immunizations as early as 4, so might want to give some at 4 and some at 5, so there is not so much at one time if that is possible.
