I had the DREZ February 10th 2009.. It took away the pain i wanted to but I ended up with more problems cause of it. I was told when they went in that had had 2 more nerves torn instead of 5 i had 7 avulsed nerves from my spine. Having said that they place a Harrington rod with 4 screws on my spine to hold my neck from dropping to one side. So i have that pain to deal with. My leg still hasnt come back. I also have no feeling on the left side of my back and part of my chest. I get really bad headaches and also problems with my stomach. I guess the good thing is i'm off the hard meds. This does suck though as most of us know dealing with this injury but we must move forward in life and stay strong..

Tyson,

I'm sorry about the severity of your injuries. Our TBPI injuries seem to be much more complex than just the TBPI. Once one thing goes, so many other things seem to follow.

I haven't had a follow-up visit, but in the hospital I had a similar outcome, just not as severe. I was told they found more damage than 1st suspected, they knew about 2 and found more.

I was lying in bed today and thought, "Damn, I feel good." I haven't had that thought that in over 13 years. Getting up, being up, and walking impact that feeling, but oh, what a feeling to lose the waves of pain.
