Cracking or poping sound

I was told by my ot that its calcium buildup in the joints.

We were told it could either be a tendon sliping or could be bone on bone, but never got a for sure answer. My son is 9 months now, and it happens only about once or twice a week. It used to happen several times a day. The Dr couldn't get it to pop, so she couldn't tell us what it was.
