Yes, Dr. Nath a qualified plastic surgeon, as are most of the doctors that work with BPP injuries. It's part of the complete package when working on the bodies of children, and I am happy it is. Though Dr. Nath is a plastic surgeon, that is not his primary field, nor did anything I have read about him (and I have done extensive research)indicate that his training in this area was for anything other than preventing his patients from having disfiguring scars from the procedures related to BPP.
Dr. Nath doesn't believe that surgery is required for every case. I would prefer a doctor that's first instinct is not to reach for the scalpel.
I do, however, agree with Claudia in the fact that every parent of BPP children get second and third opinions.
Just to point out though, Dr. Nath is amongst the top in his field.
