These tips are wonderful. Keep them coming!
Mel, I was just in my car, driving along with Amy Theis and Kath Mallozzi. So you have 3 bpi's in a car together -- you've got the picture in your mind. We approach a toll booth, I've got a LOBPI and am handing the toll worker the money with my right hand, stretching over. The three of us are muttering to each other about how these things are NOT easy for us.
So what does the toll worker say? Can she lean forward just a little maybe to help out as I torque my body to hand her the money? Ha! No, she says to me "Can you move a little closer please?" Duh!
Our solution -- who says bpi's aren't creative? Amy, who is ROBPI, sat in the seat behind the driver and she paid the tolls from then on out whenever we got to one.
This is not really a tip. Just a note to let you know that I totally understand the problem and that, along with you, I think EZ Pass is the answer for us.

Nancy,
Wow, I got a "visual" of you 3 at the 1st toll booth. I admire you and Kath's restraint from giving the "toll taker" a 30 minute lecture on BPI'S...lol.
Your "solution" is very helpful; I'm going to have my Angel-son Scott sit in the back seat when going across our Narrows Bridge and future freeway tollwayss in coming up years here in WA State. Thanks.
HUGS all around,
Carolyn J

I agree with Felicia. My husband had to take a cab to Target from Miami childrens( the hospital paid) for a new car seat. With everything that went on, it never ocurred to us until discharge that jody would not fit in his rear facing seat with the cast. plan ahead!!!!! We were able to donate the seat to the hospital w/out the base for use as a carrier only.

Now Nancy:
In the land of black humor-bpi style... I am smiling at the picture of you three in the car dealing with the toll booth.
However, since Juliana is LOBPI, and I have missed the bucket at a toll booth many a time (and to think I am an athlete!), I have considered what she would do. And then came EZpass. Clearly, although I know big brother is watching me, this is fabulous!!
We can go up and down the eastern seaboard and never take out money. I love it.
So yes, if your state has electronic toll paying, it is the way to go.
And still, you didn't say anything to the toll taker, hmmm....

Nancy has EZpass and guess what? The state we were in does not accept EZpass and we were on the eastern seaboard.
I love EZpass because I use to travel the Garden State parkway in NJ and have to pay the .35 cent toll every few miles. I had to fumble to get the change with my right obpi hand.
We thought about this gracious lady and realized there was no way she would get it.
I think we were too busy making our black humor comments about the "lady".

We were definitely too busy making our black humor comments. A trip to remember, lol.
An alternative to toll roads, move to MN we dont have any here that I have ever seen. Much easier that way!
Hugs,

For the most part, James just kinda figures things out on his own. If he has to take the long way or the hard way, he does it on his own. So, I guess my tip would be...Please dont be ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help if you really need it, we all have to ask for help sometimes in our life, bpi or not. Were still working on that one !

Ah, but Amy... I'd have to freeze my &%$&* off 10 months out of the year! I'll take the tolls...
Yes, I've run into local tolls that don't take the ezpass. I find now that I am surprized by it and often don't have the change I need.
I'll want to hear some of those comments, ya know!

You had to see and hear her attitude. An she never even looked at us... LOL... Guess she had to move her fanny off her seat and work for the money... it was too much for her... LOL...
Lots of laughs at her expense.
Even the challenges of lobpi and robpi are different.
I never though about toll roads until I met Nancy.
I knew it was a pain to get the tolls lined up so I could reach them with robpi to pay. It's harder when you can't take the tickets and throw the cash in.
We need the rest of the country to get on EZpass. It makes life better for disabled.
Amy boy would I be rich without so many tolls... LOL...
