I am glad that the Mod Quad went great for you so far.

I am not sure what you mean by you know all the doc differences.

And perhaps since all caps is considered yelling you should consider switching because it is rude to yell all the time.

Not only is using all caps considered rude, it makes your posts difficult to read, at least for me. Please consider using lower case letters when appropriate.

Does that mean he is not splinted?!? I am confused... I thought Nath splinted for several weeks after MQ. If he is splinted, how can you tell anything about function this early?

small non caps he is splinted at night we see over head no wingind and he is getting more every day. diff docs we have been to all the docs around and chose our doc i hope this is ok for all i respect everyone and hope the best for all our bpi friends sorry to offend the caps did not know it was yelling!

Hes not splinted during the day only a couple days post op? Wow, that suprises me. Congrats on the good results so far though. Hope you continue to see good results!

I don't understand Frankie had his modquad last nov the day before we were sent to the pt to be fitted for his splint there were like 20 kids there all different ages the instructions were the same 6 to 8 weeks in statue of liberty splint 24/7 when you bathed him or changed bandages someone had to hold the arm in the air and the child was told not to move there arm. are you sure you got the instruction right???? I have never heard of mod quad being unsplinted especially Dr Nath he even likes to extend the time in splint says the longer the better.Frankie ended up doing 16 weeks. Frankie's surgery was 2 hours not to long. What about therapy OT/PT Dr Nath had frankie going 4x a week for 6 months then 2xs a week for 6 months Glad everything went so well Mare

With this drastic a departure from what others have experienced and what is listed on Nath's own website and literature... I would definitely ask why such a different post-op protocol. It would be horrible if you actually had the instructions wrong! I think it's more likely that a full Mod Quad was *not* done for some reason. I would want to know what that reason was, and exactly what was done.

My daughter was in a spica cast 24/7 for eight weeks following surgery, and then in a splint for an additional three. This doesn't sound like the mod quad to me. Maybe the doctor decided on a lesser surgery with your son's injury and improvement?
