Thanks for your input Kath. I have set an appt with a therapy center near here. The hospital didn't have a bio-feedback machine. The therapy center said if it works they can order one for us to take home, that way insurance should pay. If they won't pay they can order it for me to buy from them for about $350-$400. I am so excited I can hardly wait til tues. Oh, I have to tell him I set an appt, hahaha. You are giving me a big hope. Dustin's injury is nearly 2 years so I think it is brain training and strengthening too.

I am so excited for you.

I am excited for YOU and Dustin.

I went to the Chiropractor today and he immediately noticed that I did not have my shoulder hunched up.
He said he could see the difference in the way I use my deltoids, I no longer throw my arm forward.
He was surprised at how high I can lift my arm now and then we played with the Myotrac.

It will take time but seeing even a little progress is worth it to me.

I can only hope that if I can gain something the kids will gain so much more...

Kath,

That is such great news!! But girl you have got to get some sleep. *L*

It is an exciting thing. I should have tried it when I was at camp. I'm interested in hearing your progress. Please keep us posted. Perhaps we should all invest in one. *S*

Talk to you soon.

Update
I find many subtle changes along with the two major changes I made shortly after using the machine.

I reach for things without thinking using my right hand.
I was drinking a soda and driving right handed. Could I have done this before? I don't know but I know I never even thought about. Is it because my brain is making a connection to my arm and I am just using my arm because I can more comfortably? I don't know.. but I am using it and can reach straight up and out to the side. I use to use my upper traps for all my arm movements and now I am using my triceps and deltoids.

Very interesting changes!
I put my left hand out and then my right hand almost fully supinated on top of it. That is a huge change for me. I can't fully extend my arm out supinated but I think I am getting close.

Just thought I would let my friends here know.
This machine is amazing or maybe my muscles are amazing.
Considering all the nerves involved, I am surprised at gaining any movement let alone this quickly.

I passed the COOKIE TEST

While we were at camp some of us decided to take the cookie test. We also took photos of ourselves failing or struggling. My husband said we were sickos but we thought we were funny. I always thought that was a dumb test...

Amy took a photo of me getting the cookie.
Last night she asked me to get another photo of myself getting the cookie. I had Ralph take the photo and was shocked at the difference. I DO NOT trumpet when I take a cookie now. It is amazing.

Yeah for ME...
