My daughter did the same thing. Most of the time it was her scars from past surgeries (she has had 5). They are continuously healing. My daughter is 7 going to be 8 and says the scars hurt. They are too in the shoulder. I do also believe that cold weather effects their arm sort of like arthritis is in cold weather. Hope this helps.

I am a mom of a 12 yr old girl and she complained of pain to but when we saw a neurologist she said her arm couldnt be hurting as the nerves in her arm we so badly damaged that pain couldnt be travelling down them so can anyone explain to me that if I pinched her it would hurt, this doctor made me feel like both my daughter and i were neurotic. As you can understand I was not happy with her at all.

THe best thing I can think of is even though the nerves are very badly injured, they still healed to some degree. My guess is that your daughters surface/sensory neveres regenerated, but the functional part of the nerves that innervate the muscles failed to regenerate to the point of usefulness. If that makes sense to you. Even if the main portion of the nerve is not getting signals to the muscles, the pain still manages to get by.
My example to you is my arm. The functional portion of my ulnar nerve is shot! For the most part I have no feeling! But for some reason it still manages to send shooting pain every so often. Go figure.
Hope that helped at least a little and I didnt confuse you!
