Re: Pregnant and SCARED
my fouth child is robpi he weighed 11lbs 7.3oz when he was born, and I was scared too when I found out I was pregnant with our fifth one when Emmett was 16 months old. I found a Dr who understood and we were going to try another vaginal birth with this one because I was scared to have a c section. I was induced three weeks early to try to prevent him from being to big but the induction failed and ended up having a c section anyway. Wyatt ended up weighing 7lbs 15oz with no injury.

First, CONGRATS!
There is alot of great advice here. I have two daughters, a 4 yr old and a 3yr old. Our 3yr old has a BPI. and has undergone now 3 successful surgeries. I am now 7 1/2 mths preg. I am remarried so this preg. is a little different to start with but, we had a lot of questions & concerns as well. We have seen 12 different OBs. and toured 3 hosp. Both my girls were 9lbs 10oz. We have been told that of course there is an increased risk for another S.D. but there are so many different things involved that after evaulating them we decided to go with a vag. del. I delivered my first w/ an epidural (after being induced.) flat on my back. the second, in a semi-sitting position without any drugs. I have been seeing a chiropractor and a massage therpist/doula for this preg. and I hope to go through the first stages of labor at home, then finish labor and delivery at the hospital we chose with my doula, (of course my husband) a midwife and an OB all with experience in handling SD. we were advised to watch my weight gain and practice different birthing positions, and to also be prepared for a c section should one be deemed necessary. Even with all this info and preperation, I still am scared of another injury. We are just doing what we feel most comfortable with and lots of prayer. I hope all goes well for you. take time to enjoy your preg.you are in my prayers.
