Court,
I wish I could call you and talk to you myself, but I know you are probably out of it (and you should be!).
Thank your mom for the updates on you (I have--but really do appreciate it).
You've been on my mind a lot; Joel and Emma want to hear from you when you are up to it. I told them they could make you a card or something and we'll send it.
Wishing you all the best, a speedy recovery and great results! I hope you are comfortable and not in any pain.
I know you won't be able to eat Thanksgiving dinner, so I've decided I will have extra of everything for you ;o)
Love,
Peggy

GOOD MORNING...................BPI FRIENDS & FAMILY!!!!!
It's the American mom for Court....I've been awake about 2 hrs now so thought I'd check the bds for her...did you know that a secretary has a secretary? Always something new....let me start with thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers,or/and however you nurture one's friend or family. It has meant so much to Courtney and to our whole family. I'm getting ready to head up now after a quick shower. Last nite's 7:30pm visit was great to see her, not alert but breathing, all vitals in order and wiggling toes and fingers for her nurse. What a special place...by the way, Staybridge suites is great to stay @ right across from St Mary's with BIG continental breakfasts & a few dinners also. Court looked very healthy and the drs were very pleased with how things went. They're both so nice...they did say that Bishop came in for a bit so I'm not sure what all but she'll be thrilled...they said they'd have her up walking asap and that possibly she won't be in the hospital as long since they weren't able to do the flap/graph....but she's doing great otherwise... she has her littloe turtle from JEff with her...she's do funny....she did say that, before she went in, she may want to stay another day @ the suite to make sure she's feeling good for the trip....we'll see...she has me registering her for next semester on Tuesday so she'll be back to finish that Masters...they said maybe another wk off work, she had 3 scheduled but maybe she can go back part time also....Ben, her boss, said if she wants to do stsuff at home, they'll send her stuff and she can be getting some hrs so we'll see what happens...sounded like her car business went through also before surgery but that got lost in the shuffle so she has to contact them..she wants her notebook up at the hospital when she gets onto the surgical floor.....well, gotta run....eat, go potty and get to my daughter's side. I'm so thankful that I have this time off paid and a friend flew out to be with me 'til Monoday and on MOnday, my only sibling,a sister, flies in from Boston to spend some time with her niece. I'm so blessed.....take care everyone...we love you guys and one of us will be keeping in contact with the UBPN community as you guys full-well know, she loves you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thx............shelley

Shelley,
Thank you so much for the update. I am thrilled to hear that all went well and that she is recovering nicely. Give her my love and tell her we'll all be waiting for her funny stories.
too bad about the flap/graph but maybe she didn't need it? I take it the rest of the surgery went as planned?
Hugs to you.

Wishes for a speedy pain-free recovery and a successful surgery, Courtney. We will be there on Monday, but at the clinic, not at the hospital.
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you were able to have a nibble of turkey.

Hey, Shelley, this is Mel's mom,Sue. I'm so glad the surgery is over and Courtney is doing well. I know how nerve racking the wait is especially when it is your daughter in surgery. I know her recovery will go quickly since she is young and healthy and also very determined. Please give her our best and tell her we are thinking of her! Sue

just got back to hotel...nurses were going to give her a bath. she said she feels like she got hit by a truck but keeps that moraphine(sp?) pump right there on her tummy. Yes the rest of the surgery went as planned. She said Dr Shin said this morning that her nerve was a bit shorter but went together beautifully. She's been sleeping off and on and my girlfriend fed her a bit of "Turkey Day" dinner and she got a little sick...drank some ginger ale and that seemed to help. When they put her up in the chair this morning the nurse said she passed out..luckilly she was in the tall back heart chair...about 6 nurses there so they threw her back in bed and once her head was lying down she came right to..out for not quite a minute...bp bottomed for the first time of being up...all vitals seem to be fine and her breathing gadget...well, that's way over what she should be blowing and staff was very impressed. she talked with Jeff a bit and was a bit teary eyed....so I'm gonna grab a few z's and head back with scrapbooking as she brought me some of their vaca pics....I guess my RED HAT gets the back burner for tonight.....thx again guys...i think things are going to be great. HOpefully tomorrow she'll go into her step-down unit-neuro surgical- and will start some therapy....that's what they predict...ouch....i'll keep that to myself...love you guys.............shelley
