Thank you for replying Ellen. I would really like to read that file if can email it please that would be great. Im goin for my surgery this friday but my Dr said he was only doing the never transfers and not muscle. I don't understand why not muscle tranfers as well. I have the exact same thing as your son had. The avulsion of all 5 bpi.

I did see a doctor at Rush in Chicago that was VERY eager to do DREZ. After researching it and finding the possible side effects it was too risky for me. I have also heard and read on the boards that it is NOT 100% effective and the pain, sometimes, comes back and worse than before.

Tyson, I don't know how many doctors will be operating on you but both a nerve and muscle transfer would be too much for one doctor to handle alone in one operation. My dgt also has 5 avulsed but 3 doctors performed the nerve and muscle transfers at the same time. The nerve surgery is more time limiting than the muscle transfer. It can be done at a later date if it's needed. Sue
