National Spinal Cord Injury Association
I don't know if a BPI is considered this type of injury or not but there are certainly enough links here for all sorts of things...check the state links and the resources! There is also a HOT LINE at 1-800-548-2673.
I already called Christopher Reeves Foundation for you but they are strictly fundraising for research it seems.
How about the insurance commission office in your state?
good luck,
I'll keep my thinking cap on,
francine

I have no clue if you are christians but you live a huge city. In Minnesota if you call all the churches they will hold a Sunday service with a collection to help pay medical expenses. Try it it might be the answer.

Hello, im Uk and don't know how your insurance system works, but I was told by a guy who had surgery by David Kline in Louisianna (
dkline@lsumc.edu) that the centre ran a research programme and some folks qualified for surgery even if they couldn't pay. It is for the gaining of experience for the consultants i think he said.i do NOT want to falseley raise your hopes about that but the guy insisted he was correct, it was 2 years ago he told me tho - it would be worth an ask? Also i was told last year a famous bpi surgeon (Dr Julia Terzis, sorry no contact details, others do or try resources section of this site?) sometimes did something similar but i dont know what the criteria is supposed to be. As i say raising false hope is the last thing i want to do but personally i would think it's worth a shot to ask - i really hope you guys get the treatment good luck.
