It seems like most OBPI situations involve higher birth weights, shoulder dystocia, or at least some form of distress or trauma with the baby or mother. Does anyone out there have a situation where their baby was not large, was not stuck, and was not in any distress?
Thanks,
Sarah

My daughter was 9lbs 5oz, no distress, I only pushed two times, it was very quick, no episiotomy (no tearing either). In all honesty I would go back (and still do) to the same doctor, as my first two children were 4-6 weeks early (different doctor), this doctor gave me great pre-natal care after almost losing her to pre-term labor once (this was after having a miscarriage a few months before). I have no bad feelings towards him in anyway.

My BPI baby was 10 lb. 9 oz.
My first baby was breech and was a c-section (7# 15 oz-38 weeks) I tried a vaginal delivery with my 2nd, but ended up with another c-section (9# 8 oz.) My 3rd was a vaginal delivery (my only girl - 7# 12 oz.- 38 weeks)
My fourth was a vaginal delivery (9# 1 oz.)
My fifth came 9 years after my fourth, and he was a little bigger than expected.

The law in Florida is 2 years. We used an excellent attorney in Tampa. We just settled out of court in November. One reason the insurance company wanted to settle is because our attorney had just won his last BPI case for 1.5 million. We also had a video which they reviewed and once they did, they wanted to settle out of court. But, I'd give it all back in a second, if this would have never happened to Michael---

Michaela weighed 8 lbs 15oz. Doctor guessed around 61/2 pounds. Our attorney(in Florida) said we had 2 years to file a lawsuit. I never asked if Michaela could as she got older. LeeAnne

My first baby 8lb. 11oz. and I had a little trouble getting her out when it came to her shoulders but everything went smoothly and she was fine.
Second baby 9lb. 6 oz. And I gained a lot more during my pregnancy. I knew the baby was going to be big. I was concerned about it and mentioned several times. I also initially mentioned how I had a hard time when it came to the shoulders during my daughters birth. But the usual story - no one listened and unfortunately I didn't know enough at the time.
