Hi Evee! I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you...I cannot believe that a lawyer would not take your case...keep looking! Our PT told us that we had no case because our daughter's recovery was "too good"...my suggestion to you is that you keep looking, there will be someone who takes your case...for us, it was not a matter of how good her function was (she is going for surgery 7/20), so she definately still has some deficits, but the real issue was that my ob failed to diagnose the shoulder dystocia that caused the BPI...They also argued that the nurses actually could have helped cause the injury in utero by pushing on my stomach (not average pushing that is to be expected, there were 2 nurses pushinig on my stomach during each contraction and it was awful!) I saw a commercial on tv that advertised a firm that specialized in certain cases, and BPI's were one of them...they turned out to be great. I hope that you are sucessful in finding someone, and that your son is doing well. Keep the faith
Kimberly
bpi in Utero?
Re: bpi in Utero?
Shari,
I gave birth at The Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. I had such a horrible pregnancy that when the doctor asked me if I was sure I wanted to tie my tubes. I said yes I dont want to go through the same problems again.

Re: bpi in Utero?
Kimberly,
I will try to find another lawyer. My son has alot of medical issues that affected him in Utero. His bpi may be better but he still suffers from other things. His arm still clicks and he still holds his arm back (waiters tip) sometimes. He never had surgery. His arm was partially parylized at birth but is better now.
thanks
