Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Thank You everyone for the good wishes. Even tho it's raining cats & dogs here I AM having a great day. My Angel of a son is taking me out to dinner and is going to help me adopt a companion doggie.Today, none were the size I need for apartment living but I will continue to check the shelter regularly.
Hugs,

Thanks Rachel...Yes, I did have a great birthday and I finally found my Doggie,Maggie, on June 6th. She is as old as I am...LOL...& I saved her from the eventable where dogs go when they're too old at the local shelter. She was sick too, but has rebounded to be a loving companion. She's a Beagle mix and a good walker..why I adopted a dog..to get me walking more.
It's a love match!
Have a great summer with your kids.
Hugs back at you,

Hi Carolyn
Sorry I missed wishing you a Happy B'day earlier.

Slow Friday at work, so I am web surfing. Never get a chance to pop in much anymore. (My e-mail site is blocked so can't get in on that site). Hope it lets this post go out.

Glad to see you found a LOST puppy (I call all dogs puppy-don't know why- always have).

Hope you had a GOOD ONE. Angela

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Hi Kath
I have e-mail.....just can't access it from work. I can still pop in at the Library (only on Tuesday evenings) or drive across the BIG city I work in and go to the Junior College Computer Lab, any night after work.

The Bridal showers were last weekend. Tomorrow, Jill is meeting me at the BEAUTY shop. I never get my hair done, so am doing a trial run. I did my own hair when I got married. But the GIRLS are getting their hair done so I decided to give it a trial run.

I like working full time. NOT working was driving me crazy. I am on my break now, but will finally have some work to do, after break. Later Angela
