My guidance counselor was the one who told me about money for College, I went through OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation). The guidance counselor also made me aware of a Social Service agency I could get summer work at when I was in school. I liked working there so much that once I was out of school I got a full time job there in my field of study.

Sorry about that, it is a good question.

Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) in some states, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) in others and Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation in still others (BVR).

We had our first appt with the DVR yesterday. There is a short waiting list. No list if u are level one, which is severely handicap, 3 mo or so if you are level 2. They do have some money to help with college. Not a full ride but every little bit helps. They are getting Dustins records to determine if he fits catagory one. It is close as he has problems with coordination, walking, and a few other areas due to the TBI he had at the same time as the BPI. Also they said most schools also will help in these situations. We will check with them after we hear back from the DVR.

Good news I guess. Dustin is a catagory one with our DVR. That is severely handicap. This means no waiting list, he is eligible for help right away. Ok, I know the severely handicap is not good news, but the no waiting is. This means he should have help for college, job training and placement, and I am not sure what all.
