Hi Oscar. We immediately "fired" the neurosurgeon as soon as Chris was released from the hospital after his accident. He was hard to get in touch with and Chris had problems and the doctor never returned our phone calls. I don't know where you live, but you need to see a hand and upper extremities specialist. The one we see here in Atlanta, is Dr. Peljovich. He's the only doctor in Georgia who specializes in adult BPI. Contact the Mayo doctors if you do not have a doctor who can guide you and help you while you wait on an appointment with the Mayo team. I highly recommend them. Dr. Shin at the Mayo Clinic took time out to call Chris when he found out from Dr. Peljovich that Chris needed surgery for an infection. They are the best in the country. I hope this helps. A neurosurgeon can only do so much for you, you need a doctor who has specific knowledge of your injury.
Take care!
Angie

Thanks Angie, I'm in So Cal and my doctor does specialize in BPI. If I do not get the answer I want I will take your advice and follow up with mayo. The closest one to me is in Arizona so I have a lot of thinking to do.

Hi Oscar,

Regarding Mayo, you'd do best to try & see the team in Rochester Minnesota. I know it's a hike for you but that's where the primary bpi specialists are located.

Good luck - I know it's a LOT to deal with.
