Hello Tiff, and welcome. I'm 50 years old with left BPI. Read your post and brought back too many bad memories for me. If they are true friends, they'll understand when you ask them to stop. Don't allow yourself to be the amusement for others. This injury is tough enough with all of it's frustrations. Feel free to vent anytime, we are all here for you.

Hi, I am 23 and I have BP in my right arm.
First let me start by saying 20/20 really stirred up some feeling I never knew I had. I was so angry at those doctors. I never saw someone like me before, and now more people know about BP.
O.k. back to the subject. I love to run but, I really hate that stabbing pain in my shoulder too. Sometime I stop swinging my arm then. Boy I must be a sight running like that.
I guess I see my BP as a sort of blessing. I mean I can relate 100% to every complaint but it's part of me. Maybe it's wrong but I figured it was easier to make people laugh than dealing with being made fun of. See this way I am in control.
(Example: I am getting married in August, I was telling my co-workers there is no way the YMCA song will be played at my wedding. I throw them off by mentioning it on my own.)
Don't get me wrong I still don't like doing aroebics in front of people, so I just don't. But I did play tennis in High School, and I served right handed. Now that was a sight, but I loved the sport so I don't care.
If anyone wants to talk my e-mail is veggiebeetle@aol.com
I really enjoy talking with others, I don't feel like I'm the only one.

Love,
Traci

Dear Traci
Welcome to the board... glad you found us.....
You made me laugh... I love to dance but the YMCA and Shout.... the band always start with "now lets see everyone put their hands up in the air" I want to throw my hands up... and swear..LOL

As for the humor we all have it ...it seems we all developed that same sense of humor... We learn early in life that if we made fun of our selves first no one else could get us... a defense tactic...

Congratulations on the Wedding... I would like to share a story with you ... I am right obpi and I am 62 so...last year we had a fashion show with wedding gowns of the past century... since I was married in 1965 and really don't fit into my wedding gown because it is so small... my daughter modeled it....
While trying on my gown she put her arm in the right sleeve first..and started to complain how tight it was and went on and on...when the gown was all hooked up.... she was saying it made her feel like she was lopsided...LOL.... because of the smaller shoulder arm sleeve and back on one side.... while she was moaning ...she suddenly realized why..!!!!! . we were both rolling laughing.... it was so funny .... after the show.... she kept saying she knew how it felt to be me.... LOL... the funniest part of this story is when I said my daughter would wear my gown it never dawned on me that my dress would be tight on one side....LOL….. I forgot…

So save that wedding gown for future laughs...
As for tennis I took lessons ten times... could not serve... quit ...finally...and realized... I did not even like tennis I just wanted to be able to do it...LOL

Welcome again
Kath
