neurontin question

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI
no external rotation against gravity, can only go to 90 degree fwd flexion, no hand-to-mouth
1 surgery at age 14 (latissimus dorsi transfer). In 2004, at age 28 I was struck with Transverse Myelitis which paralyzed me from the chest down. I recovered movement to my right leg, but need a KAFO to walk on my left leg. I became an RN in 2008.

There is also a new drug out now, same effects as Neurontin (for neurological pain), but at a lower dose. Called Pregabalin (generic name), Lyrica is the trade name.
I am supposed to try it starting in December. I'll let you know what happens with that.

Thanks for all your responses everyone. It's tough for me to know what is muscle pain and what is nerve pain because I've never had nerve pain before.Maybe this is what nerve pain is. My pain really is just everywhere, pretty much from the neck down my arm. I'm going to see what my BPI guy thinks on monday and go from there.
