Oh my gosh, that was the same thing for me, too!! I would forget in mid sentence what I was talking about. And one huge side effect for my marriage was that I had no sex drive! I felt goofy and it was great for 2 days but I, too, wanted control of my life again. Tried it and didn't like. Cross it off the list and go onto the next............

I take it for neurologicalpain in another area of my body, and it works for me and have had little or no problems while on it and I take 2400mg a day. Now that being said I would like to decrease that amount in case it does affect my memory/thinking as I am back in school. But really for the most part I have had no issues to date.

Karin,
I took it for a while but only at bedtime. It helped me sleep and I did notice a difference the next day if I didn't take it the night before. I would have a lot more nerve pain if I hadn't taken it. I tried taking it during the day, but couldn't function. It knocked me out. Taking it only at night made it easier to stop taking also. I was able to decrease the amount a little every few weeks when I was ready to come off of it and never had any problems when I stopped.

Everyone responds differently to medicine, so you have to do what works for you...
