Hi Mike and others...
I sent an inquiry to Dr Filler and received a call back from his office manager. The initial consultation is $500. I was hoping that I could give some basic facts of my injury before handing over the $500 and to have him say "Sorry, there is nothing that we can do for you." I was not able to get an answer from the office mngr or have her consult with Dr Filler.
Basically, I avulsed T1 thru C7 13 years ago. I have not done any PT in over 10 years. The pain is manageable w/out meds. I have no movement from the shoulder down. The only thing that I care about is getting mobility again. So with me having nerve avulsions and the injury being 13 years old, i would guess my chances are pretty slim to none.
I would imagine with this info that Dr Filler could say wether or not there is hope for me but I could not even get the office mngr to relay this info to him. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts ?
-Rich

Rich,
Unfortunately for us his popularity with pain management and peripheral nerve injuries makes it difficult for him to deal with patients without scheduled consultations.
Does your insurance cover consultations?
Mike

Hi Rich
Are you back on your bike, were you able to get the stabelizer? I know that spending money is no fun but it will be dificult for a doc just give a diagnoistic with out studys. Have you got surgury before, because that will be the right way to determine if your nerves are realy avulse. Every singel injury is different so there is more than 1 opption to try to help. After 13 years there still different alternatives to try to help your arm, one of them is the muscule transplant that can get you back some movility. And I think from what I have read here Mayo Clinic will be the place.
