Hey Brittney that must have felt pretty good!! Who cares if it wasn't pretty, it went in. There will be other chances to beat the goalie. Speaking of the goalie, how does knocking down the goalie to get to the ball work?

Thank you all for being so excited with me!!! All of your comments were just so nice!! I wish we could go to camp and see all of you!
Well the next game we lost 6 to nothing - knocked us out of the tournament - wasn't pretty but we did buy a cool t-shirt!! The day Brittney scored she got out of the car and we were trying to find our field that she would be playing on. She tripped and SPLAT (face down) and Chip and I looked at eachother and thought "this can't be good!" But she bounced back up and said, "I'm OK!" LOL
John - LOL - you would have cracked up! She was running down the field and tripped into the goalie and they both went down and the ball somehow hit her leg and went in!!:) LOL Not the most graceful goal! LOL I kept thinking "she tripped again" but the ref called it because it was in that goal and we got a point and I was jumping up and down so much that I did not get a picture.

On Sunday she was marking a kid twice her size and she was down alot. She got knocked so hard at times that her body bounced off of the ground - but she is tough and soccer is what she loves.
Thanks again to all of you that replied. It was very exciting for us!:) She wants her next goal to be without tripping!:)

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Thank you Carolyn, Lisa, Louise and M&M's Mom (I love the idea of M&M''s Mom - that's clever:) My kid's are Brittney and Sabrina and sometimes I say SaBrittney - LOL - just a slip but it covers them both.... LOL Your posts were all so kind! We have a game again tomorrow and Brittney is a starting wing. Her new pink soccer shoes do not look so pink anymore -. I''m hoping that she kicks one in tomorrow instead of falling in to the ball... LOL She laughs about it too. Lisa - your little man I hope will love soccer - it is such a great sport and he will meet so many kids his own age and you will meet parents. Chip and I have such close friends that we've met thru soccer. Parents on the sidelines rooting for your child, and the ones saying, "At least your child didn't score for the other team!" LOL LOL Soccer is fun. It's funny when they are younger and playing (age 4) - Sabrina had two friends that would hold hands and look up at the sky the whole time! LOL Others would be chasing bugs - but they improve over the years. Sabrina has a game in a little while.
Thanks again,
Christy

Christy,

Good luck at the game! Have fun!

I know my little guy will love it. Everyday this week he keeps asking me, "What day is it? What day is after today?" He is ANXIOUSLY awaiting for Sunday, so tomorrow he will be a VERY happy boy and will thoroughly enjoy his first soccer game. I played soccer growing up and in high school, so will probably end up coaching some time, but for now I look forward to cheering the team on from the sideline. It will just be so cute seeing these little ones running around. Can't wait!

Take care,
Lisa
