Christy, I feel the same way. My son was born 11/19/03 with a ROBPI. I was permanently injured as well. I truly believe that there is some master plan and that everything does happen for a reason. That thinking is what has gotten me through the past year. If nothing else, our injuries have brought our immediate and extended families so much closer together. My son's smiles and laughter are so encouraging. He's my hero. We both have required surgery, but he's kept such a wonderful attitude. He amazes me everyday with his one-armed wave, his kisses, and his giggles. I think our injuries have made me a stronger and more humble person.

I do not know you, but I was so glad to see you on Dr. Phil. I feel the exact same way that you feel. I, too, saw that post from the lady that said "just be glad your baby is alive". It made me mad! I felt like it was a smack in the face for us who have children with these injuries. I know that it really does not help you a whole lot, but I think that she is just a person who is critical of others because she has nothing better to do. I am sure that if her child lived with the daily pain that our kids do, she would understand better.
