Re: I'm pregnant with #2
if I had too do it over again I would demand a c-section / I told them I wanted one if anything looked the least bit risky as I don't want another baby injured but they did not and my third son was injured as well as my pelvis having to be separated - it would have beenbetter for both of us to have a c-section.

I am also pregnant - number 3. Here is our plan: Since both my other babies were early (36 wks and 38 wks) and tended to be big, we are going to plan an early c-section. My doc doesn't want to go before 37 weeks, but will monitor carefully just in case. At 37 wks we will do an ultrasound and amnio (to test for surfactant which indicates lung maturation) and if mature enough, we will section then - otherwise do it at 38 wks. My doctor also reviewed my medical records from the previous births (different doctors!) and that was helpful. He also discussed my case with the other doctors in his practice so they are all aware adn agree with the plan.
Good luck!

To: Tina, Sophie's Mom...
Good for you in deciding to do the amnio to check for lung maturation before a cesarean. I don't want to scare anyone, but when you have a scheduled cesarean, there is the risk of something called TTN (transient tachypnea of the newborn) which is sometimes related to decreased lung maturity and the fact that the amniotic fluid isn't squeezed out of your babies lungs like in a vaginal birth. I see this probably occur in about 25% of scheduled cesareans. The earlier the cesarean, the higher the risk of difficulty with breathing at delivery. So, kudos to you for deciding on the amnio. in order to check lung maturity before delivery.
To: all the expectant Moms on this board...Congratulations to you all. This is such wonderful news to be expecting yet another little miracle in your life!
