Hi,

I also tried Southwest. I faxed over the requested info and left a voice mail for Tracie Martin. A woman named Laura Jackson called me back and was extremely helpful. She confirmed that there was a "freeze" on medical flights, but tried very hard to get me the lowest fare possible (the fun fare.) She even suggested flying from Philadelphia for $99 one-way (but that was too far of a drive). She also offered some discount certificates that I could apply to the total cost (for 4 of us) of the flights.

My son is having surgery the week after Thanksgiving and in the end she couldn't find a flight in our area with availability. So, I wound up booking on another airlines for about the same price (but no discount certificates). With the flights I booked, we can leave a few days later and save on hotel and car rental days.

Also for a room I found a place called the Residence Inn Houstion Medical Center/Reliant Park. It has a lot to offer including a full kitchen and separate living and sleeping areas. The medical rate is $89 per day for a studio and $118 for what is called a "penthouse". The penthouse has 2 bathrooms and a loft.

Good Luck!

Hi. We just had to travel to Texas from Missouri, and we used Angel Flight. It was wonderful. You ride in a 4 person plane with a pilot that donates his time. They are very nice. Sometimes you are even able to recieve free transportation to your location. We were very pleased. The toll free number is 1.800.362.4256
Good Luck!
