too right Dave-o; you can save masses here by doing this. All it takes is persistence and a good ability to LIE!!
The boy racers...hhmmmm...Karl, down here they're more like rich Daddy's boys who go out and buy their little darlings a car that's way too expensive and fast for their capabilities...some have only just passed their driving test and get given top of the range Mazda's or sporty Fords...trouble is, the high cost of insurance means nothing to these guys..they will ALWAYS be around I guess...

there ford escort drivers round here who find it interesting to drive round & round the high street doing wheel spins with crap tunes blaring.
yea wont take long for the insurance companies to realise this will cost them lots of money, then they just load our insurances to cover the cost.

one question over the pond do they load your insurance due to your bpi. they used to in the uk, made it more expensive cos you had a disability, hopefully this no longer happens due to the disability discrimination act. i stick to the same insurer so not sure if it still happens? just wondered how it works in the U.S.?
bye hazel

My insurance agent told me first and then WCCO out of the Twin Cities(Minneapolis/St.Paul, Minnesota) did a story on it. The insurance company apparently feels there is a direct link between bad credit and bad driving records. Which is stupid! The friend I wrote about has a really high credit rating because she totals cars out so fast. Her husband figured out that buying expesive $30,000 SUVs was smart because they pay off the loan in six to twelve months when she totals it thus their credit rating keeps getting better. In my state the auto insurance lobbyists are out of control with campaign contributions so forget changing the laws here!
I got mad because the auto insurance company refuses to pay any medical bills but then turns around and nails me a higher rate because of the bills. I feel like it is discrimination on a lot of levels. I am in the process of trying to find somebody who will give me a better rate. So my advice is don't give out your social security number because that is how they are doing this! (In my state I am not required to give it out.)

Nope Hazey they didn't load my insurance cuz they don't know I'm a one hander. They'd have to get a court order to open up my medical records.
All they ask is " do you suffer from something that prevents you from safely operating a motor vehicle " NOPE not me, as long as it's an automatic I'm cool..
The funny part is I still have my bike license....ah the gov, they kill me....
In Canuck land your premium is still based on your driving record. If it was based on my credit I'd be paying ultra cheap premiums.
Bye peeps, Mike

mikey here you have to declare it for your driving licence, the licence is very open. just basically says automatic licence with controls for you to operate cars safely. although the insurance goes through a whole list of stuff, one being do you have a disability.........maybe could get away with sayoing no but if you have an accident i wouldnt want them turning round saying we wont pay up cos you never declared. at least im covered i suppose. what do other brits do?
bye crazy

my ins co told me that as long as the DVLA knew about my bpi and the car was properly adapted (similarly to daves when i first started bpi driving as it goes) they would not load me, in fact they said they couldnt. that was back in 84 haze, your ins co must be complete bastards. but then aren't they all? health insurances cos must be even worse, think of the exclusions they could come up with for peeps like us!
boy racers....
