Re: I have a heavy weight on my shoulders
i DO NOT KNOW HOW YOU FEEL BUT AS A PARENT OF AN INJURED CHILD I TOO HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THE EASY WAY OUT. I AM BETTER NOW BUT MANY TIMES ALONE I WOULD DWELL ON THE WHAT IFS AND IF I URGED THE DOCTOR TO LISTEN TO ME MORE. I TOOK SOME SLEEPING PILLS ONCE BUT KNEW I DIDNT TAKE ENOUGH. I'VE TRIED TO HOLD MY BREATH TILL I COULD NO LONGER. BUT THEN I THOUGHT ABOUT MY SON NEEDING ME AND WHO WOULD HELP HIM GET THROUGH THIS AND WHO WOULD DO THE THERAPY AND WHO WOULD BE THERE FOR HIS SURGERIES AND JUST TO HOLD HIM WHEN HE CRIES. I HAVE A SON AND I KNOW ITS THE SAME WITH ALL KIDS BUT AS A GIRL WITH SCARS ITS AN IMAGE THING. TALK TO HER AND HUG HER AND JUST PRAY FOR HER. SHE MAY ALSO THINK THIS IS HARD ON YOU AND SHE MAY JUST WANT TO FIT IN. ALL GIRLS GO THROUGH TOUGH TIMES, I SURE DID! I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE YOUNG AND FEEL THE WAY I DID BACK THEN. I WAS NOT POPULAR BUT IN THE END I BECAME BETTER AND MORE BEAUTIFUL THEN THE GIRLS I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH. AND LATER ON, ALL THOSE BOYS ASKED ME OUT AND THIS TIME I WAS THE ONE SAYING NO. HUGS

Re: I have a heavy weight on my shoulders
I am very sorry for all your trouble and pain. It must be very difficult to deal with. I will be praying for you and your daughter. I know that a lot of days all I can do is be deeply depressed about my 2 year old son and the fact that after three surgeries we still have no arm function. I know that it tears my heart out and I always try to remind myself that it could be so much worse. This support group is one of the best things that I have found and there are a lot of parents who read these messages. We need to all stay close and be good friends when one of us has problems. Prayer is the best method for me and I will be praying for you. We are all like family even in most cases we have not met. God bless you and your daughter.

I am sorry about this but i also know that it is hard my daughter is 5 months and has robpi.
I know it is very hard to deal with.
I wonder every day how life will be for us.
She is getting primary surgery Dec 10 I am very scared.
Another way you could explain things is some people are scared on the inside our kids just are on the out side.
God will be with you both and be with you all the way throuh.
God bless you.

Re: I have a heavy weight on my shoulders
Hello all, Well there is some good news; DeeDee is home from the hospital and she is doing great. She was in for 10days they put her on Depakote and it sure has helped alot. Now I can talk to her without her getting mad or upset with me. She has a different outlook now.We still had a long road to travel but we will manage. Now we are getting ready to head to TCH for the Mod Quad sugerey. We are both scared for this is a big step cause for a 12 yr old she is looking foward to it but then she is scared.
I just wanted to let you all know that DeeDee was home and doing great
