My daughter is 12 years old now and she is getting SSI disabality. We went as far as seeing the judge. He read her medical records and saw that she was limited to what she could do with her hand and arm. I`m a single mom. So my advise is go as far as you can go with it and see what happens.
One of the doctors told me that by 6 months of age she would have full use of her are and hand back...well 12yrs later she don`t have full use of her hand or arm.
(I tried to log in but for some reason I can`t)

Hi Cathy,
I used to work for a Social Security Laywer and have found out through my local SSA office for my own baby who was injured at birth with ROBPI.
I found out from a friend of mine there that my son would have been financially eligible for SSI. On this basis.
This is based on the household income. SO for a family of 4 with only one income, the max gross per mth is $3281.80. That means if your gross income is below that number and they find him disabled, you would be entitled to some SSI benefits. Only problem is if the income in the household went up, then he would lose benefits.
Just thought this might be of interest to you. If you have any other questions, please let me know. The Social Security Administration is very tough when it comes to childrens cases. I worked for them for 6 years.
Thanks
Lisa

Thank you for all your replies. I just don't know about the next step. Destiny can't lift anything over her head, can only lift to chin line, so maybe that will be in her favor. Maybe I will contact an attorney.
