Well just to let everyone know I went to he U.W. Friday to get the results of my second emg from Dr. Kliot and Go Figure, he said I had avulsions in c5 and c6 and that basically over all I have had a very devestating injury. I am scheduled for a ct mylograph next week. I hope to hell the news is different, the words amputation were mention during our discussion and that is as far as I feel like going today. I hope everyone is doing better than I am today and I pray the mylograph is different.

Hi Brandon,
Sorry to hear the appointment didn't go too well, and if I can speak frankly, I am absolutely appalled that your doctor is talking to you about amputation at this stage. I am assuming your injury is quite recent? Forgive me if I have got that wrong.
The CT myelogram should show up whether you have any avulsions or not. It is a very good test for this, however, it might not show up any stretched or ruptured nerves further away from the spine. A very good website and explanation about CT myelograms can be found here http://my.webmd.com/hw/back_pain/hw233057.asp
From all my studying of this injury, I believe the only way to assess the damage to the BP with any real accuracy is to go in there and have a look, combined with in situ EMG testing on the exposed nerves. It's what the surgeons here in the U.K. call exploratory surgery.
All the other tests, including CT myelograms, EMG's, MRI's etc in combination give a very good indication of the damage, but surgery alone will either confirm or reject these findings.
Good luck with the test...let us know how you get on.
