My wife was involved in a one car roll over last March. Sustained a TBPI to the left shoulder. Musculocutanious nerve and median nerves servered ulnar and radial stretched. After four surgeries to repair fractured bones repair a damaged brachial artery, infection, etc. We are finally on the mend.
That last surgery (and all of them)was done at the University of Utah. Cable nerve graphs were done to repair the severed nerves. She goes to a hand therapist every week, and I do therapy with her almost every day. She has regained good movement of the shoulder, elbow flexation, some wrist movement, can't move the thumb and index finger, yet but we are hoping. If anyone would like more information on the hospital, surgeon, procedures, etc. e-mail me and I will give you more info. As with most everyone else, we could tell war stories and horror stories all day.
Surgery Report from Idaho
Re: Surgery Report from Idaho
Congrats on your wife determination. I have yet to have surgery but I have TRBPI and I meet with the neurosurgeon who will do the surgery on friday to schedule. I just was wondering where the nerves were severed and what was the first surgery she underwent concerning the nerve damage and what type was it, and what should I expect? I am31 very nervous and anxious and feel like i am in the dark.
Sincerely
Brandon

I haven't heard from you, yet. Please feel free to call and talk to my wife or me. We can tell you about the surgery she has gone through.
