Latissimus muscle transfer?

can anyone give me some info on recovery and if it really helped and whatever else i might need to know, i was just told by my sons dr that he should have this surgery done, and also i see many kids with BPI that also have braces for their legs is it common for people with BPI to have the tibia torsion or be pigeon toed? thanks in advance!

My 3.5 y/o son has leg and stomach issues that I think are defintely related to BPI. He had tight heal cords and therefore is a toe walker. He also for some reason does not use his stomach muscles correctly and is tight sitting in indian style.
