head tilting

Post by josiah'smom »

Hi, everyone. My son is now two and a half and has already had surgery to correct the crossing and wandering of his eyes. He has horner's syndrome in his right eye (the side affected by BP) and now he tilts his head all the time to the left. We saw his opthalmologist today and she didn't seem too concerned about it, saying that it was only about a 5 degree tilt. My mother is urging me to get a second opinion. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this in relation to the injury and what was done or said about it. Would really appreciate any comments. Thanks.

My baby had bpi from birth, and very soon after developed the head tilt, always turning her head to the opposite side, (known as torticolis) Could you check with your PT or OT about this and see if that is the cause? Stretching was the main solution, and being sure to lay her in ways to encourage her to move out of the position....

My baby girl had bpi from birth. She developed the head tilt known as torticolis very shortly after. She turned to the left to avoid painful spasms on the right. You might want to check with your PT or OT to determine if that is the cause of the head tilt. Stretching and other techniques helped resolve it, but it can become more serious if left untreated.
Blessings to you both!

My daughter has a bpi from birth. Very shortly after, she developed the head tilt to the side called torticolis, from avoiding muscle spasms from the affected side. Perhaps you could check with your PT/OT to see if that is the reason for the head tilt you are seeing. If the Ophthalmologist says it is not vision related, it might be postural. Stretches and other techniques relieved it, and it is important to get on it right away.
Blessings to you and your child!
