Hello all,
I just have a couple of questions.
whem i lay my Daughter down her arm go's stright above her head.
She has no bicep use.
Just when she is laying down her arm go's above her head does anyone know why this could be?
Is this a good sign or bad?
Also she has severe waiters tip.
Is there any splinting that could help?
Or just surgery?
Please if anyone can help.
Thanks
Salina
Also forgot to say it is hard to bring her arm back down.
It go's back up.
Thanks
question about erbs palsy?
Re: question about erbs palsy?
Is she able to move her arm back down after she puts in above her head? How is she doing with the exercises when she is at OT and when you are at home? Your OT should be able to recommend/provide a splint to help keep her wrist elevated (or in a neutral position) so as the muscles of the wrist aren't constantly over extended. Has there been any improvement since birth?
Re: question about erbs palsy?
No i dont think she can bring it back down on her own.
No there has not been alot of improvement since birth.
She can lift her arm a lil bit but she keeps it streght.
And she can not lift it alot.
It is hard to bend her arms sometimes when we do rom.
They said they can not get her in any thing untill she has surgery.

Re: question about erbs palsy?
Salina,
Were you able to talk to Dr. Hentz and reschedule her surgery? We've been worried about you and your family.
Please let us know what's going on. If you want references for Dr. Waters in Boston, I'd be happy to talk to you about our experience so far (Joshua is 10 months and did not need primary).
