Tylenol w/Codeine

Post by browning93 »

For information purposes. We found this out when Michaela had MOd Quad 6 weeks ago. If your child is sensitive to alcohol in medications ( always makes Michaela throw up) they make Tylenol with codeine without the alcohol called Capital. They gave it to her at TExas after she threw up 2 doses of regular Tylenol w/codeine, and gave me a bottle to bring home. It is by prescription of course. It worked great for her and she kept it down. I thought from her first surgery she reacted poorly to the codeine but I was wrong. She also can't tolerate alot of cough meds or liquid meds with alcohol. Just thought this might be helpful with all the kids having surgeries! LeeAnne

Ohhhhh, so THAT's why Elizabeth lost all of her inhibitions at TCH when she got Tylenol with Codeine....she was looped! I had no idea there was alcohol in it! Boy, she was something else!

Francine, I just looked at the bottle and I guess Capital is the brand name just as Tylenol is a brand name. On the prescription bottle it says, Capital With Codeine Suspension. You have to shake it really well since it is suspension but it works great. The ingredients are acetaminophen/codeine(susp). Sounds Like tylenol to me!LOL
