missing posts?

Post by Marnie »

I am reading some of the posts and they might say that there are 8 replies but I am only seeing 4 replies. It seems that some of the posts have missing responses, why?

The moderators remove posts that are spam, "bump" posts, etc because they ad nothing to the thread.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I have been busy with some family matters and off the boards for a few days.
One of the most amazing things I noticed is that someone is digging up old posts and bumping them up.
I thought at first it was for information but it more someone has nothing better to do with their time then to play with the boards.
I guess they were counting on people asking.
I am glad someone asked because it seems like there are a lot of posts missing.
I am trying to catch up on a few days reading.

So if you notice missing posts I am sure you will understand.

Well, some of the removed posts are just mean-spirited... judging from what ends up in private email boxes when the poster is "thwarted" and has their post removed or not approved on the boards. Case in point, "nullix" who apparently felt compelled to register a fake name and fake email address just to reply to my recent post (obviously not kindly, since it was deleted).

It's really depressing that some people don't have anything better to do than try to cause trouble or inflict pain on people they don't even know. What *is* it about the Internet, that it brings out the worst in some people?

Amanda's mommy, I don't know. You can try to post again.

I do know that a lot of people post as guests and it just says "bump" and those just get deleted because they do not add anything to the conversation whatsoever. Also, the spammers just tack on as guest posts for casinos, etc. Obviously they have nothing to do with the thread, so they get deleted. My guess is someone keeps "bumping" the Triangle Tilt post to the top and the "bumps" get deleted.

I don't know what happened with your post, however. I'm sure that if you were following the message board policies there should be no problem.

I'm a little mystified, too, about the post thing.

Someone just bumped up a post I wrote a long time ago, about OBs apologizing. I went to look at the latest post on page 3, and there was nothing there.

I know sometimes people do bring up old posts if it's relevant to a current idea they have or problem they're having. That's fine. When I bump a post, which isn't very often, I always write "bumped." Oh, well. Who knows?
