Winging scapula

Post by DOTTIE »

l would be keen to hear from anyone like me -
l had a prolapsed disc at T5 and after many years of avoiding surgery -l was left with no choice
The op went well except they severed the long thoraic nerve -and hence a very painful winging scapula
9 months ago they repaired it but still the nerve is dead -l can not use my shoulder or top half of the arm due to pain and now have it immobilised
Next steps look like dynamic muscle transfer -so l get a new set of muscles from the major peck-with a tendon from my leg -this l am told wil give me pain free movement of the arm and shoulder eventually .
Has anyone had this operation
