Does everyone with BPI hurt always?
Does everyone with BPI hurt always?
Hi everyone...I am still trying to get info about if I have a BPI or if it is Parsonage-Turner Syndrome. My question is this::I don't have really any spontaneous pain--what i have is use related; do all BPI injuries hurt all the time or do some of you with a confirmed BPI go without the pain? Thanks, Mark.

I have both..... most of the time I really dont have much pain to speak of, of cource it hurts all the tiem but you become immune to it after a while... I Dont get the bone crushing pains like I used to! There are times that I do, over tired, stressed, over using my bpi arm.... things like that... lately its been a real pain in the arse!!! But for the most part, pain doesnt affect me... Hope this helps....

Thanks Court, I am sorry you hurt all the time. I suppose I am not the first one on this board to say that I daydream sometimes and just think what all of you are feeling at that time and I send a quick prayer that your pain would leave and that we could all meet someday and exchange high fives to each other. Have a tolerable night. Mark

Hi
I have pain all the time (for about 18 yrs now) since I was 17. But the weird thing is that during my 4 pregancies I had no pain.................?????????????
Winter is the worse!!!! Hot baths help so much but its a short lived pain relief. People who do not have pain w/ this injury are SOOOOO lucky. I guess I'll keep having babies:}

Re: Does everyone with BPI hurt always?
Hi, You've given me hope Kath in Chicago! I have a RBPI since 5/10/04. I've had pain every day since then, but it is so much better now. My injury is minor compared to most, but it's still been a tough road to recovery. Anyway, I've been thinking about having a second baby and have been worried if it will make the pain worse and your post gave me hope that it won't Maybe it will even be better... that's great for you. Pregnancy is hard enough without having to worry about your arm hurting all the time.
I hope you all have some pain free days or at least hours

Hi,
Just wondering if you were on an meds with your pregnancies? Do you know what Nurontin might do to an unborn child? I don't know if I could ever go off it. (avulsed all 5 left hand nerves & amputated right arm and shoulder) Just think kids might be an impossibility. I am 30yrs old and married. My accident was 3 yrs ago.
Bye
Gayle

Re: Does everyone with BPI hurt always?
Hi Gayle~
I did "try" Neurontin, it was my only "drug" I ever tried. It took weeks to be weined off of it and then I waited 2 months to make sure it was out of system.........by the time I got pregnant it had been almost a year since I was on it. I did read all the possiblities of what could happen to an unborn child while on it. I read most of it was deformities. I never wanted to take meds to begin with but I was desperate. I did not like Neurontin therefore I am done w/ meds.
I think you can do it, Gayle. Having my children made me feel so good and they keep me busy and with that I don't have time to think about my pain. I really do believe that, if I think about my pain it hurts more.
